Hyland House is a day respite centre for seniors and people living with a disability in the Pine Rivers region. We embrace the internationally-recognised The Eden Alternative™ philosophy of care. This innovative way of thinking about aged care works to promote loving companionship, empowerment and spontaneity and encourages environments that include animals, children and plants.
We are looking for a new Administration Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will provide efficient administrative support to Respite and Social Inclusion and exceptional customer service to our customers. Work with the team to facilitate a reliable, communicative and productive office environment.
This is a Permanent Full Time role Monday to Friday, start and finish times negotiable. You will be the face of our facility, greeting clients as they enter and providing tours of the facility to prospective customers. You must be adaptable to changing environments, flexible and passionate about providing the highest level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Willingness to work within Philosophy, Policies and Procedures of WMQ and the Uniting Church of Australia and follow the Eden Principles.
2. Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.
3. Demonstrated experience working in a similar role
4. Demonstrated competence in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook).
5. Demonstrated previous experience in delivering high quality written documents, reports and correspondence.
6. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a courteous phone manner and commitment to delivering high level customer service.
7. Strong organisational abilities, including effective time management and the ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks.
8. Demonstrated competence in using software programs, with the ability to transfer skills to new management systems.
9. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing quality assurance and continuous quality improvement.
10. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work including for transport needs and to travel to other WMQ sites in the course of work.

This position is responsible for undertaking a range of activities to deliver personal development opportunities in life skills, employment and education to young people residing in LYFSS. There is a strong focus on providing advice and guidance to young people and linking them to prospective employers, training and education, mentors and other prospects within the local community focusing on long-term career and life aspirations and life skills development. The position works closely with Youth Development Workers and Careers Advisor to build resilience and provide follow up support to maintain successful outcomes.
This full-time position requires some flexibility in rostered working hours in order to meet the needs of young people.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values.
2. Ability to learn and work within an Advantage Thinking framework to advise, challenge and guide young people towards self-discovery, personal life goals and work balance.
3. Work closely alongside the Careers Advisor role to implement the vision and strategic direction of the earning and learning component of the program and with the other LYFSS Team members in a coordinated, person-centered manner.
4. Provide and/or arrange coaching, mentoring and skill development support to young people through direct personal career and education tasks with young people, group work and external opportunities.
5. Encourage, inspire and stimulate change strategies to support young people's goals, ability to cope with challenges and to build their confidence and resilience. Maintain a solution focused approach to support young people to overcome barriers to reach their goals.
6. Conduct follow up monitoring of young people's progress, the service's performance and outcomes achieved over time.
7. Initiate and maintain connections and working relationships with wide range of stakeholders including employers, business, job service networks, training and education providers, Government and non-Government representatives and general community for the purpose of connecting the service and young people to opportunities.
8. Appropriately advocate for young people to engage in and maintain education and employment options while maintaining positive working relationships for the service.
9. Assist with the appropriate record keeping to a high standard and in a timely manner.
10. Support the LYFSS Team members in various activities, participate in building a positive working environment and high-quality service for young people which reflects positively in the community.

Exciting opportunities present itself to work on the Northside and Southside of Brisbane as a Disability Care Worker within the Community Care and Inclusion Directorate of Wesley Mission Queensland as part of the NDIS Home Support service. The Disability Care Worker is responsible for delivering individualised supports to people who have disabilities including those with high and complex support needs, who are residing in their own homes. Supports will be delivered in a way that assists the individual to attain and maintain their optimum degree of independence, quality of life and to meet the goals identified in their NDIS plans. Clients will be supported with all aspects of daily living, including but not restricted to, personal care, associated light domestic duties and social/community participation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values.
2. Provide support to people who have a disability including those with high and complex needs with all aspects of daily living, including but not restricted to personal care, light domestic duties and social/community participation.
3. Assist people who have a disability to attain and maintain their optimum degree of independence, quality of life and to pursue the goals identified in their NDIS plans.
4. Provide high quality supports in accordance with the individuals Care Plan, WMQ's Code of Conduct, policies and procedures and the NDIS practice standards.
5. Plan, provide and review supports in collaboration with the individual and their networks to ensure they provide for their holistic well-being.
6. Build positive relationships and communicate appropriately with clients, their families and networks.
7. Consult and provide feedback to the Care Leader/Manager regarding client outcomes, needs, concerns and risks identified.
8. Maintain accurate client records and time sheets.
9. Actively participate in performance reviews, team meetings, training and all continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Undertake other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by management.
