Position Summary

Enrolled Nurse - Clinical Support

Key Role Accountabilities of the Enrolled Nurse:

  1. Align personal leadership behaviour and ethical standards with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values.
  2. Undertake the provision of direct care to residents.
  3. Observe, monitor, document and report signs, symptoms and changes in residents' status, and to follow up with appropriate care.
  4. Administer medication under the supervision of a Clinical Advisor.
  5. Contribute to the formulation, implementation and review of resident's individual care plans.
  6. Implement and comply with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
  7. Ensure that all work is carried out within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice.
  8. Achieve outcome standards and service delivery practice in accordance with Government regulations and other relevant bodies.
  9. Ensure Resident's right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality are respected.
  10. Follow safe work practices and procedures at all times.
  11. Assist with orientation, training and supervision of staff as required.
  12. Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes to ensure a high standard of practice and service delivery.
  13. Participate in the performance development system. Manage own professional development and provide evidence of this on request.
  14. Other duties as directed by the JWG Manager and/or Clinical Advisor.

 

Qualifications and Experience that will facilitate success in the Role:

Essential:

  1. Current Enrolled Nurse Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  2. Demonstrated skills and experience in clinical nursing within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practise.
  3. Proven ability to accurately administer medications under the supervision of a Clinical Advisor (RN).
  4. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to document resident care and follow resident Care Plans.
  5. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise, encourage, engage, actively listen and support various stakeholders at all levels, to achieve outcomes, particularly in relation to ensuring compliance with legal and mandatory training requirements for staff.
  6. Commitment and enthusiasm to the professional development of self and others, including the ability to develop and foster an understanding, commitment and enthusiasm to the principles of continuous improvement, person centered care and the Eden philosophy.
  7. Certified Eden Associate or willingness to attain accreditation.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multi-disciplinary team to provide coordinated, holistic care to residents.
  9. Solid computer skills, preferably including the ability to effectively utilise MS Office and related applications for data entry and record management purposes.
  10. Understanding of and commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
  11. Understanding of and commitment to Work Health and Safety procedures.
  12. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
  13. Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.

Essential Requirements Essential: Must have a current Drivers licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
