Position Summary

Mental Health Peer Worker - Gold Coast 

Fixed Term 3 year contract.

The Mental Health Community Support Service Mental Health Peer Worker is responsible for delivering both individual and group non-clinical, holistic recovery-focused psychosocial support services through the Individual Recovery Support Program and Group Based Peer Recovery Support Program for eligible individuals experiencing a severe mental illness in the Gold Coast region. This is a new program funded by the QLD Government, working closely with the Gold Coast Health and Hospital Service. 


The peer worker is required to use their own lived experience of recovery openly, appropriately and effectively to build professional relationships with the people they support. Peer Workers will work alongside Recovery Workers to deliver high quality care and support for people accessing the program.

The program will service the entire Gold Coast region with the main staff hub located at Robina.
