WMQ is seeking an experienced Arts Manager to development and implement our Creative Arts Program. Wesley Mission Queensland’s Creative Arts is an initiative created to engage people with disabilities, of all ages, funded under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, to participate in a range of creative arts experiences. Initially this will include, but is not limited to singing, drama, art and drumming.  The program will also develop creative arts opportunities, in partnership with internal and external organisations to deliver on-line and/or ‘virtual’ experiences through theatre, exhibitions and virtual communities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. In collaboration with the Creative Arts Advisory Group, develop a Strategic Plan for the program annually. This will include business, marketing and operational plans.
  2. Develop and deliver creative arts programs in the areas of, but not limited to, singing, drama, art and drumming.
  3. Develop and implement, in collaboration with internal WMQ supports and external stakeholders, a ‘virtual’ arts experience for customers/residents. This is to include access to all areas of the arts.
  4. Expand the program, looking for new opportunities for all customers/residents of WMQ, but priority to NDIS funded opportunities.
  5. Engage and oversee ‘sessional’ facilitators.
  6. Provide general management of the WMQ Creative Arts program. This includes developing and implementing strategy, lobbying and advocacy with government and non-government stakeholders.
  7. Lead, motivate and manage all program staff, facilitators, contractors and volunteers.
  8. Compile, manage, monitor and report on the budget for WMQ Creative Arts program.
  9. In collaboration with WMQ Grants Office, develop and implement strategies to secure grant funding.
  10. Develop and implement publicity, media and event management strategies to ensure WMQ Creative Arts is well recognised and maintains a positive profile and reputation. This includes representing WMQ Creative Arts and working with Marketing and Media specialists regarding coverage of WMQ Creative Arts events.
