Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator

WMQ has a part time position available for a Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator to work at our St Marks Aged Care Community in Chermside.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Charter, Values and Mission of the organisation.
- To assist residents to attain and maintain their optimum degree of independence and quality of life.
- Within the scope of qualifications and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, assess, plan, implement and regularly evaluate a range of innovative lifestyle and activity programs to meet the specific needs of the residents and their families, in order to facilitate participation and positive outcomes.
- Prepare and lead individual and group social and recreational activities encompassing the cultural, emotional and spiritual needs of the residents.
- Assist in the education, co-ordination and supervision of volunteers
- Identify and respond to individual needs of residents.
- Liaise with appropriate staff members, service providers and relatives regarding resident care and progress.
- Document/report ongoing progress of residents and programs.
- Coordinate, facilitate and supervise programs for the residents with a community involvement focus.
- Ensure the ongoing compliance of the Leisure and Lifestyle team with workplace health and safety requirements, requirements of the aged care sector and organisational policies and procedures, and promote continuous quality improvement processes.
- Attend, participate in and/or facilitate resident meetings as required.
- Order and maintain necessary equipment in line with budgetary requirements in conjunction with the Local Manager.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably directed by the Local Manager.
