Program Support Worker - Marcus Mission

Marcus Mission is a program that specifically addresses the over representation of men dying by suicide, by providing men's workshops in the local community.

Position Title: Program Support Worker, Fixed-Term Permanent Part-Time
Award / EA: Social Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Classification: Level 3
Reports to: Program Coordinator – Suicide Prevention
 

Key Responsibilities Include:

1.     Align one’s workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland’s Vision, Mission and Values. Align personal leadership behaviour and ethical standards with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland’s Vision, Mission and Values.

2.     Liaise with a range of stakeholders including men seeking support, volunteer mentors, service providers and community members.

3.     Provide supervision and support to Volunteer Area Coordinators and Mentors.

4.     Co-facilitate resilience building workshops for men

5.     Communicate effectively with stakeholders via emails, phone calls and face to face engagement and provide information about the Marcus Mission Program

6.     Conduct phone screening interviews with men seeking support and men looking to become volunteer mentors.

7.     Maintain accurate records regarding group work programs, client contact, volunteer details and enquiries utilising excel spreadsheets and the WMQ IRIS information system.

8.     Support program operations and communications using programs such as Eventbrite, Microsoft Office and Social Media

9.     Where required carry out tasks as reasonably directed by the Program Coordinator.

10.   Participate in activities that further individual professional development and learning.

Essential Requirements Essential: Must have a current Drivers licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
Essential: Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or Peer Worker or a related area.
