Housekeeping Assistant (Casual)

Hummingbird House is a joint initiative of the Hummingbird House Foundation and Wesley Mission Queensland and is Queensland's only children's hospice, providing a medically supported 'home away from home' for children affected by a life limiting condition, and their families. Hummingbird house is a purpose-built facility offering 8 guest in care suites, 5 family accommodation units and a unique 'care at the end of life' suite. http://hummingbirdhouse.org.au/home

Hummingbird House is a registered Private Hospital and the Housekeeping Assistant will provide supplementary support to Permanent Housekeeping Staff and Volunteers to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for Hummingbird House guests and families.


Key Responsibilities:

1.      Align one's workplace behavior with the Principles, Values and Mission of the organisation.

2.      Maintain Family Apartments and Care Floor Rooms to achieve prescribed health and hygiene standards which may include laundering, ironing, cleaning, sanitising and room configuration and           set-up.

3.      Liaise with the Clinical Staff to ensure room availability and housekeeping services meet guest and family needs.

4.      Support, assist and guide Supported Employees and Volunteer Staff to carry out Housekeeping duties.

5.      Assist with preparation and clean-up associated with special events.
