Content and Social Media Coordinator

About the role:
Forming a key part of our Corporate Affairs, Media and Communications team, this critical role will be responsible for creating consistent and engaging content and brand messaging for the organisation, supporting the corporate affairs, communications and event activities of Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ).
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a range of strategies to ensure maximum engagement with new and existing customers.
- Sourcing good news stories, focusing on the organic nature of content and ensure the brand’s story telling is impactful, engaging and consistent.
- Engage with all relevant stakeholders to manage, coordinate and deliver the WMQ content plan, both internal and external, writing and publishing content across all communications platforms including website, intranet, Yammer, social media.
- Manage all WMQ’s social media channels and respond to comments and messages following the social media policy, including participating in an on-call roster for monitoring during the weekends and on public holidays.
- Adapt and modify content plans to the changing needs of the business and create content that is engaging to relevant target audiences on those channels.
- Delivery of qualitative image content for all organic content opportunities including photography and videography in a timely manner.
- Manage and populate the Organic Content calendar in a regular and timely manner by utilising scheduling software and providing regular reports.
- Develop and coordinate the production and development of creative multi-media including videos and photography for all organic content.
- Provide support to the Events Coordinator at all events and ensure that all events where WMQ is in attendance are covered adequately from a content / media perspective maximising all coverage and optimising visibility.
- Provide ready support to the Corporate Affairs and Communication team in managing a business continuity or emergency situation.
About You
- You are an enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for social media, writing, story telling, interviewing talent, photography and videography and gathering good news stories from across the organisation
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications or related field and at least two years of previous experience in content production and development.
- Demonstrated experience in producing high quality, creative stories, content plans and online organic social media content.
- Experience with the Adobe Premier Pro and other creative applications is ideal
- Strong project management, presentation and communication skills with proven experience in developing and nurturing stakeholder relationships.
- Strong attention to detail with good writing skills including spelling, grammar and style and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- An excellent understanding of how social media platforms work including Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube, Twitter and scheduling software.
