About the Role 

An Enrolled Nurse position has become available at Cooper House. We are looking for an enthusiastic Enrolled Nurse to work in a team environment delivering personal and clinical care to our residents. Cooper House is an Eden Alternative home and we use this model of care in everything we do to ensure our residents are living their best lives.

Minimum 20 hours per fortnight with a variety of shifts including morning, afternoon and night shifts.

Must be a team player, be honest and reliable to be successful in this role.


Key Role Accountability include:

1. Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and
Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Value
2. To observe, monitor, document and report signs, symptoms and changes in residents' status, and to follow
up with appropriate care.
3. To administer medications under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
4. To contribute to the formulation and implementation of care plans.
5. Implement and comply with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.
6. To work within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice.
7. Achieve outcome standards and service delivery practice in accordance with Government regulations and
other relevant bodies.
8. Ensure Resident's right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality are respected.
9. Follow safe work practices at all times.
10. Assist with orientation, training and supervision of staff.
11. Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes to ensure a high standard of practice and service
delivery.
12. Participate in the performance development system. Manage own professional development and provide
evidence of this on request.
13. Other duties as directed by the Manager and/or Registered Nurse.


Qualifications and Knowledge Essential to the Role:

1. Current Enrolled Nurse Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
2. Demonstrated skills in clinical nursing within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practise.
3. Ability to administer medications under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
4. Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills.
5. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to document resident care and follow resident Care Plans.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide coordinated care.
7. Understanding of and commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
8. Understanding of and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety principles.
9. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
10. Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy
