Child Care Assistant Educator

Little Marchants Child Care Centre offers care from birth to five year and is a 29 place centre and is open from 7.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. The centre is set in the grounds of the Whellar Gardens community and hosts an intergenerational program that promotes the interactions between residents and the children. We are meeting the nation quality standards and are proud to have flexible and responsive learning environments both indoor and outside. We are a smaller service that has strong relationships with families and demonstrates respect for each member of our community. The rooms are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and our Kindergarten program appropriately reflects the Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines.

We are looking for a dedicated assistant educator to join our team. The position is a permanent part-time educator and is for 60 hours a fortnight, with flexibility to increase when required. The role is currently in the toddler room but we request flexibility to work with different age groups as well.

We are looking for educators that are passionate, driven, flexible, dedicated, and gentle and can work autonomously and in a team environment.

Selection Criteria - Applicants must:

1. Hold Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent (Actively working towards a Diploma level qualification as outlined by ACECQA)
2. Hold current Working with Children Suitability Notice
3. Hold approved first aid qualifications
4. Communicate effectively and positively with all stakeholders
5. Create responsive learning and inviting learning environments
6. Demonstrate proactive leadership qualities
7. Deliver a responsive early childhood program reflecting the Early Years Learning Framework, our philosophy and the National Quality Standards.
8. Closely liaise with the service's educational leaders
9. Have skills to prioritise and manage work projects efficiently and effectively.
