Position Summary

Works Coordinator

 

Site Supervisor /  Leading Hand - Working with a Project Manager to oversee and deliver small - mediam Capital Works Projects focused on Building Infrastructure / Services, Remodeling & Refurbishment and Lifecycle Replacement. Must be Organised, able to manage multiple works at once and be familure with Managment of Contractors. Diverse roll with Projects varying in size and nature and opportunity to grow your capabilties.

The position is a Coordination and hands-on Position and entails responsibility for providing direction onsite, co ordination of day to day works liaising with other trades and contractors, and where required, completing trade works in line with qualifications

  

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Coordinate onsite works for small to medium Maintenance and Capital Works projects.
  2. Keep accurate records and time spent and Materials used onsite and provide records in the required manner
  3. Communicate verbally and electronically with parties involved with the works including other WMQ trades people, Facility Managers and other Facility representatives, Contractors, WMQ Clients and your direct Management Team.
  4. Comply with legislation especially WH&S Regulations.
  5. Provide estimates of costs for proposed works either verbally or in written / typed form.
  6. Record stock used and monitor stock levels and types relating to your area of work.
  7. Assess works on the ground and advise Supervisor, Project manager (PCBU) of details such as Risk, Trade & Contractor Requirements, and viable options to progress works.
  8. Work with all parties to ensure works are completed in a timely and efficient manner and to a high level of quality, within budget.
  9. To comply with any reasonable request in relation to service provision within the group. i.e. be point of contact for contractors and Administration for day to day operational matters, if the supervisor or Project Manager is unavailable.
  10. Abide by WMQ Policy and Procedure, and uphold WMQs organisational values of Hope, Respect, Empowerment, Integrity, Justice, Compassion and Innovation

 

Essential Requirements:

  1. Formal Plumbing, Electrical or Building Trade Qualifications.
  2. Demonstrated high level of customer service.
  3. Ability estimate cost of works.
  4. Knowledge of contemporary maintenance techniques.
  5. Willingness to facilitate management initiatives and area programs.
  6. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook or other platform for email and electronic diary / calendar
  8. Understanding and commitment to the principles and requirements of Workplace Health & Safety, equal employment opportunity and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
  9. Current driver licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
  10. Ability and willingness to work within the Philosophies, Policies and Procedures and uphold the values of Wesley Mission Queensland and the Uniting Church in Australia.

 

Desirable

  1. Knowledge of Technology One asset management or Other Works software system
  2. Demonstrated experience in supervising multi trades team to co ordinate works in the correct order to complete works in an efficient manner.
  3. Customer Service Training
  4. Experience in the use of any Asset Management systems
  5. Experience in Working to or setting up Preventative Maintenance Schedules
