The Centre Manager is a key leadership position within the headspace team - providing oversight to the coordination and delivery of services and responsible for the overall quality development and delivery of WMQ's headspace Hervey Bay parent centre and headspace Maryborough satellite site. The incumbent will provide operational management to both centres and contribute to the growth and development of evidence based and innovative clinical and non-clinical services and will ensure the delivery of services that are of the highest quality.


Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Provide operational management to the headspace Hervey Bay parent centre and headspace Maryborough satellite site and act as a key link between WMQ, the consortium, PHN and hN.
2. Ensure the service runs in accordance with headspace trademark license deed and contractual requirements.
3. Communicate, promote and progress the vision and strategic plan of the headspace centre amongst consortium partners and the broader community.
4. Engage relevant sectors and partners in an integrated model of care, promoting multidisciplinary teamwork and participation in the headspace program at a local level.
5. Monitor and lead the ongoing development and improvement of headspace services including clinical and enhanced models of service.
6. Maintain high quality service delivery skills through involvement in direct service delivery and supervision.
7. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of new projects and initiatives
8. Develop and review clinical governance and practice documents and processes to align with best practice.
9. Ensure the collection of relevant data in order to measure and report on deliverables and continuously improve and evaluate the service delivery processes at the centre.
10. Ensure staff are appropriately orientated and provided with adequate supervision, training and
      professional development. This may also involve the clinical supervision of tertiary students on placement where applicable.
11. Manage recruitment, resources and rosters in a flexible and an efficient manner to effectively manage workflow and to ensure timely and responsive service delivery.
12. Contribute to organisational planning, budgeting and reporting processes.
13. Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders involved in the provision of health, mental health, and psychosocial services to young people.
14. Represent the service at interagency forums.
15. Model and demonstrate constructive working relationships and information exchange across the organisation.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Requirements:

1. Tertiary level qualifications in relevant health, mental health or community service field.
2. Demonstrated significant experience working in human services at a management level.
3. Demonstrated experience in successfully managing a program which includes workforce and budget management.
4. Experience in complex triage, assessment and allocation of referrals.
5. Experience in service development and maintaining continuous quality improvement.
6. Proven ability in the leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including the provision of supervision and the facilitation of care reviews and performance management processes.
7. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills: and an excellent track record in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
8. Ability to work in a highly productive environment with time pressures whilst managing multiple tasks.
9. Intermediate computers skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Customer Relationships Management systems.
10. Demonstrated experience and the ability to manage all aspects of the human resource functions of the team including, supervision, performance development and management and team building.
11. Demonstrate a customer-centric focus, with the ability to analyse, problem solve and collaborate a solution with clients and stakeholders.
12. Ability to think laterally in order to identify opportunities for improvement in order to streamline and manage business and customer needs.
13. Advanced interpersonal skills including the ability to facilitate, negotiate and consult with a diverse range of stakeholders.
14. Display empathy, a sense of calm whilst being proactive and responsive when communicating with a diverse client groups.
15. Excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively and efficiently manage competing tasks.
16. Current Drivers Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work
17. Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.

Highly Desirable:

1. Approved Tertiary Qualification in Nursing or Allied Health discipline including Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing and Occupational Therapy with at least 2 years management experience.
2. Current full registration or eligibility with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or current full membership or eligibility with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), depending on Qualification.
3. Advanced level of clinical skills and demonstrated experience in a range of mental health service
    settings inclusive of Youth Mental Health.
4. Demonstrated experience working in a leadership role in youth services
