John Wesley Gardens aged care facility located at Geebung in North Brisbane.

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Advisors (Registered Nurses) to work a minimum of 30 hours per fortnight on a permanent part-time basis with the flexibility and availability to cover morning, afternoon and night shifts.

It is highly desirable that you have a minimum 2 years paid work experience working in a residential aged care facility.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Align personal leadership behaviour and ethical standards with Wesley Mission Queensland organisational values and Mission.
  2. Ensure the resident's right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality are respected and role model ethical care that addresses the diversity of residents/clients.
  3. Conduct competent holistic assessment, care planning, direct nursing care and review in non complex cases using a biopsychosocial model to optimise the individual's wellbeing or peaceful death.
  4. Reflect on practice and demonstrate competent decision making and problem solving
  5. Provide written and verbal reports on the social, physical and emotional well being of residents to CNs and collaborate with CNs to achieve quality outcomes for residents.
  6. Provide workplace coaching, guidance and supervision to Personnel Carers, Assistant in Nursing and Enrolled Nurses, and act as a role model for practice and professional conduct.
  7. Achieve outcome standards and service delivery practice in accordance with Government regulations, funding bodies and other relevant stakeholder organisations.
  8. Continue to develop knowledge and skills in specialty care (including but not limited to aged care, young people with significant disability, palliative care, pain, wound management, infection control).
  9. Participate in performance development and manage own professional development and provide evidence of this on request.
  10. Follow safe work practices at all times, comply with relevant standards, policies, procedures and legislation
  11. Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes to ensure a high standard of practice and service delivery including assisting in research into relevant clinical and non clinical matters.
  12. Work with CNs and Manager to investigate and process any complaints in accordance with organisation policy.
  13. Other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing/Facility Manager.

Essential Requirements Essential: It is essential that applicants have the flexibility and availability to work morning, afternoon and night shifts.
Essential: Applicants must hold Australian Bachelor of Nursing qualifications and current AHPRA registration.
Desirable: It is highly desirable that applicants have a minimum of six months paid employment working in a residential aged care facility.
