2 x Part time positions available (45 hours per fortnight each) for a mental health clinician in our brand new headspace satellite centre in Maryborough!

headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drugs or work and study support. headspace provides tailored and holistic mental health support to 12 - 25 year olds. With a focus on early intervention, we work with young people to provide support at a crucial time in their lives – to help get them back on track and strengthen their ability to manage their mental health in the future.

This position is responsible for the initial Access and Engagement assessment of headspace Maryborough clients. Working within an exisiting multidisciplinary team covering headspace Hervey Bay and Maryborough, the Access and Engagement Officer will be a pivotal role within the headspace team.  This role will be responsible for conducting initial screening and determining appropriate pathways and referrals.

The role will also be responsible for the referral of young people attending the service through the Case Coordination process held with the Clinical Lead and Centre Manager and as required other Private Practitioners. Other activities may include directly arranging access; providing brief psychosocial interventions, reducing barriers to obtaining services; establishing linkages; and other activities recorded in progress notes.
