An exciting opportunity is available to work in our Child Care Centre at The Gap. The Gap Kindergarten & Childcare Centre is a not-for-profit community based long day care centre providing education and care for 48 children aged six months to five years of age. The service offers a responsive learning environment guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. The service is beautifully refurbished with an open plan environment, and plenty of natural play-scapes. We are looking for a cook to join our team to work 5 days a week (28 hours a week) in a part time position in our wonderful kitchen which is the heart of our service. The kitchen provides children with three nutritious meals a day, and we are looking for someone who loves to cook and loves sharing their passion with others.
Applicants need: • Current Working with Children Suitability Notice (Blue card) or be eligible to obtain • Approved first aid qualifications, or be willing to obtain • Food supervisors certificate • Good knowledge of HACCP principles, food preparation, approved nutritional standards, menu preparation, food hygiene practices, workplace health and safety practices • Strong interpersonal and good communication skills • Approved Early Childhood Qualification or Food Services Qualification is desirable
