We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in a full time position. We will consider part time hours for the right applicant. This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative team and deliver person centred services to our community clients. The successful applicant will enjoy the support of an experienced Occupational Therapy and multi-disciplinary Allied Health team.  The position is based at Chermside however you may be required to work at the Sinnamon Village site depending on work requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Undertake accurate assessment of a diverse client group presenting with moderate to complex and severe disabilities
  • Provide evaluation and intervention for community based clients coming under various funding streams including NDIS funded
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency in the Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment of community based clients
  • Experience working within a private fee for service model of service delivery
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills particularly in establishing and maintaining rapport with staff, clients and their carers

Essential Requirements Essential: 1. Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Essential: 5. Demonstrated skills and commitment in meeting the needs of a diverse client group presenting with mild to severe functional deficits.
Essential: 6. Willingness to learn about the NDIS and provide Occupational Therapy services to this client population.
Essential: 7. Demonstrated understanding of WHS Issues, equal opportunities and anti-discrimination legislation.
Essential: 8. Willingness to work within Philosophy, Policies and Procedures of WMQ and the Uniting Church of Australia.
Essential: 3. Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
