About the Role
Wesleycare Tewantin are looking for Registered Nurses to join their team on a Casual basis. Opportunities for permanent hours may become available. You will be responsible for providing a high level of nursing care, including clinical practice required for individual clinical need, and administration of medications for residents with high, complex health care needs and disabilities. You will be required to assess the care needs of residents with high, complex health needs and disabilities You will be required to formulate, implement and evaluate quality and person centred care plans for residents. You will be required to lead, monitor and supervise a small team of disability support workers.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Assist in the achievement of operational goals of the service.
- Provide direct care to residents.
- Assist in research relevant to clinical matters.
- Implement relevant policies and procedures.
- Achieve outcome standards and service delivery practice in accordance with Government regulations and other relevant bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Carry out comprehensive and accurate assessment of residents.
- Provide direct supervision for endorsed enrolled nurses who administer medications in rostered facility or as required in other nearby designated facilities. It is the responsibility of the designated registered nurse to take legal responsibility for medication management.
- Develop, implement, monitor and review care plans to meet the health care needs of residents and to promote quality of life.
- Report all complaints to the Service Manager.
- Ensure all rights and confidentiality of residents is maintained in all matters.
- Comply with organisational policies and procedures.
- Follow safe work practices at all times.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Quality Business Planning activities.
- Participate in the performance development system.
- Provide input to the orientation and training of staff.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes to ensure a high standard of practice and service delivery.
- Undertake any other duties as directed by the Manager / CNS.
