Disability Support Worker

The primary role of a Disability Support Worker is to provide assistance to individuals with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities. The role includes but is not limited to personal care (showering/dressing), continence support, assistance with meals including preparation of meals, assistance with medications, domestic duties (laundry/housework/ironing/gardening) and shopping.
In addition, a Disability Support Worker will assist in implementing client -specific programs to help these individual s accessing support to build strong social skills and encourage independence whenever possible.
This Disability Support Worker position will be at a brand new facility located at Mt Gravatt which will be opening in March 2021. There are Permanent Part Time and Casual positions available, hours are currently unspecified. This accommodation is part of Supported Accommodation, which provides facilitated care to young people with a disability who have high care needs in a physical and social environment that is suitable for their age group. The accommodation has the capacity to house 4 residents. Each resident will have their own 2 bedroom apartment which includes a kitchen, laundry, lounge and dining within each apartment. There is also a shared space area within the accommodation.
Experience in a similar role is desirable.
Qualifications are essential.
