Wellbeing Consultant

This position works as part of the headspace Capalaba team and is responsible for Connecting with young people, families/carers and community services through a flexible approach. The purpose of the Wellbeing Consultant role is to engage with young people holistically and provide direct support to link with clinical and other services. The role will provide a welcoming introduction to headspace, provide warm referrals and active follow up. The Wellbeing Consultant role will also be responsible for linking young people to low intensity psychological supports.
This is a permanent full time role working 76 hours per fortnight.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Align one’s workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland’s Vision, Mission and Values.
2. Actively welcome and orient young people to the service i.e. discuss the services offered, explain client rights and connect them to the intake and assessment function.
3. Provide outreach and flexibly meet young people in a safe and welcoming space as stated by the young person and holistically assess their needs to link with clinical and other services.
4. Provide supported onward referrals across all service types to assist young people with transitions between supports.
5. Develop and maintain networks to benefit young people and families of the program.
6. Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead and other staff to develop curriculum for regular peer-led moderated group interventions, focus on peer support, socialisation, coaching and goal setting. Provide psychoeducation in a safe, friendly and moderated setting.
7. Adhere to headspace Integrity Framework and other significant organisational quality procedures.
8. Professionally document work to coordinate with key team members care planning and supports for young people.
9. Build relationships with priority communities - LGBTIQ+, Indigenous and CALD communities.
