Centre Director – Part Time Fixed Term Contract
An exciting opportunity is available to lead our Toowong Child Care Centre for a 12-month Maternity Leave Contract. Toowong caters for 50 children – from six months to five years including a Kindergarten Program with a qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Our beautiful and exceeding centre is set in an old Queenslander and has two fabulous and natural playgrounds for the children to enjoy and learn.
We are looking for a dedicated and outstanding Director that can manage the day to day operations of the centre and inspire and lead our educators. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Early Childhood and have demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to be inclusive.

At Toowong Child Care Centre we are committed to providing a nurturing environment for our children and families; outings to the Community are a regular occurrence, including excursions to our sister centre, Jahjumbeen CCC. We have a dedicated and established team of committed and qualified Educators who nurture and support each child's learning and development. Our centre offers a program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and therefore a willingness to learn Auslan and offer support to educators and families is a must.
The position will be commensurate with experience offering an attractive and above award salary.

Selection Criteria - Applicants must hold:
· Bachelor of Education or Teaching (Early Childhood) or equivalent. We would consider someone studying their Bachelor for the right applicant,
· Current Working with Children Suitability Notice (or Exemption),
· Approved First Aid qualifications (HTLADI004),
· Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including a commitment to maintaining confidentiality,
· Demonstrated experience in supervising a team of professional child care educators,
· Ability to undertake the duties of a Nominated Supervisor with the National Early Education and Care Regulations 2011,
· A proven ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative and make decisions, as well as a strong organizational ability, including effective time management and ability to prioritise in a busy work environment.
· An ability to understand and oversee the financial operations of a child care service, including knowledge of Commonwealth Child Care Subsidy.
· Demonstrated computer competence including Microsoft Office, internet and programs specific to the centre.
· A well developed understanding of theories of early childhood development and current research and theories impacting on the profession.
· An enthusiastic and positive attitude towards the care and education of young children, staff and families
· Willingness to promote social justice and equity by demonstrating an attitude of acceptance and respect for all children and their families
· Ability and willingness to work within the Philosophy, Policies and Procedures of Wesley Mission Queensland.
