Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Hummingbird House

Hummingbird House operates as a medically supported 'home away from home' for children affected by a life limiting condition, and their families. The stand alone purpose built facility offers 8 guest in care suites, 5 family accommodation units, and a unique care at the end of life suite.
Underpinned by the notion of creating a 'warm embrace' for children and their families, the multidisciplinary team provides 24/7hr scheduled and emergency specialist care short break stays; pain and symptom management; care at the end of life; and psychosocial support programs for the whole family. With strong connections locally, nationally and internationally with specialist paediatric palliative care services, Hummingbird House is an integrated community based service delivering flexible child and family centred care. As Marketing and Communications Coordinator you will develop, support, and coordinate marketing, communications, and media activities for Hummingbird House. Working as part of the Hummingbird House Fundraising and Marketing team, your role will be to: support Hummingbird House fundraising activities, enhance the profile of Hummingbird House, and connect the wider community to the mission and vision of Hummingbird House.
This is a permanent part-time position.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the principles, Vision, Values and Mission of the organisation.
- Develop and coordinate marketing and communication strategies for Hummingbird House, and deliver Hummingbird House marketing campaigns and activities.
- Develop and deliver strategies to build the Hummingbird House brand to ensure consistency at all touch points, and increased awareness in the broader community.
- Produce engaging content for Hummingbird House internal and external communication platforms across a variety of channels including print, online, social media and traditional media.
- Manage the Hummingbird House website and social media platforms.
- Identify and secure positive media coverage opportunities for Hummingbird House. This includes production of media releases, media pitches, and coordination of media interviews and opportunities.
- Assist with the coordination of photography and filming for marketing and fundraising purposes. This includes research, interviews, script writing, and supporting editing and production.
- Support Hummingbird House marketing and fundraising events, including: promotional activities, production of collateral, media coverage, and photography / videography.
- Assist with Hummingbird House fundraising campaigns, with particular emphasis on supporting the individual giving program.
- Coordinate all aspects of collateral production across Hummingbird House, including development, copywriting, design, and printing / production. This including supporting the development of Hummingbird House merchandise.
- Assist in the implementation of any required issues management or crisis communication for Hummingbird House
- Other marketing, and communications related tasks as required by the Fundraising and Marketing Manager of Hummingbird House.
