SENIOR INTAKE AND ASSESSMENT ADVISER - PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPIES TEAM

The Senior Intake and Assessment Advisor works within a small team administering the Psychological Therapies Program for Brisbane South region. This role is responsible for overseeing and conducting the intake/triage, assessment and referral services for eligible and non-eligible clients of the program, including suicide prevention referrals. The role is responsible for supporting the Program Manager as a senior member of the team, ensuring high quality service provision of intake, outreach and subcontracted staff to increase service access by targeted vulnerable and socioeconomically disadvantaged populations and actively seeking feedback on the quality of service provision.
The role is Full Time, Fixed Term.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1.Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values. 2. Provide leadership to the intake team ensuring all individuals who contact the Psychological Therapies team (primarily by phone and email) have a positive experience and are serviced appropriately. 3. Undertake preliminary assessments of customers to determine their eligibility for the program and risk assessment including suicide risk screen. 4. Where customers are ineligible or at risk, provide warm referrals to other more suitable supports in the stepped care continuum. 5. Create and maintain accurate records of intake, assessment, referrals, feedback and any follow-up actions required. 6. Listen to and understand the needs of customers and use problem solving skills to work with them to identify any barriers to accessing therapy. 7. Manage a database of service providers, understanding their target client groups and provide warm referrals accordingly in line with KPI timelines. 8. Prepare and distribute resource and information packs (electronic and hard copy) to customers and service providers. 9. Facilitate and build effective and positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. 10. Work effectively as part of the Psychological Therapies team including the Program Manager and Administration Officer and provide senior support to the team in the Program Manager's absence. 11. Undertake general administration and reporting tasks as required. 12. Ensure all communication and interaction with customers is respectful, empathetic and reflects the WMQ values. 13.
