Disability Support Worker

Wesleycare Jindalee are looking for permanent part time Disability Support Workers who can work a minimum of 40 hours per fortnight. Wesleycare Jindalee provides 24/7 care for individuals living with a disability who have high and complex physical needs.The successful applicant must be available for day shifts and be able to do Community Access with residents. The successful applicant will also be required to do one on one activities. Please note that some of the shifts for Community Access will be short shifts. 

WMQ is a leader in the development and delivery of support services to people with high and complex care needs.  We are looking to employ staff who have a passion to support people with disabilities to live their best life.
You need to have or be working towards a Certificate III or IV in an appropriate discipline, as well as be prepared to undertake specific training in the area of supports to people with high and complex care needs. Personally you need to be compassionate, positive, collaborative, have a sense of humour and think outside the box.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Charter, Values and Mission of the organisation.
• Work as part of a team to provide an integrated service to meet each resident's individual needs.
• Support residents with all aspects of daily living, including but not restricted to, personal care, associated light domestic duties, hospitality services and social/community participation.
• Support residents to attain and maintain their optimum degree of independence and quality of life.
• Provide residents with a physically and emotionally secure environment and promote their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual well being.
• Other relevant duties as directed.
• To participate in Workplace Health and Safety, infection control and training as required.
• Work within the Human Services Quality Framework.
• Recognise health and environmental hazards in the work place and assist with corrective action.
• Be an active participant in a continuous quality improvement environment.
• Adhere to Wesley Mission Queensland's policies and procedures and Code of Conduct.
