Workplace Coach

Dovetree are looking for a Workplace Coach 37.5 hours a fortnight who will be responsible for the provision of facility based orientations for new employees. As well as the coordination, facilitation and administration of relevant internal training activities to provide social and recreational programs to clients/ residents.

Role Accountabilities:

1.     Align personal leadership behaviour and ethical standards with Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values.

2.     Undertake orientation of new employees in line with WMQ commencement requirements, acting as an initial point of contact to assist new employees familiarise in the workplace.

3.     Coordinate and facilitate internal training sessions for employees; coaching and supporting them to achieve defined learning objectives.  This may include confirmation of current skills as well as additional skill development as identified.

4.     Support and assist the facility managers to coordinate and execute the local training calendar.

5.     Oversee and maintain a central location for training materials including training guides, e-learning materials and other support materials.

6.     Assist in the monitoring of staff training and attendance; entering training records and data for record management purposes.

7.     Engage and involve fellow employees in the processes associated with auditing and SOPHIE observations.

8.     Act as a conduit between management and staff to assist in the communication of new changes and protocols within the homes.

9.     Under the direction of the facility manager, provide assistance in relation to accreditation modules as required.

10.   Involvement in the provision of support for resident's lifelong learning.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Requirements:

Essential:

1.     Demonstrated experience and capabilities in care practices aligned to the organisational processes.

2.     Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering various training programs and workplace orientation.

3.     Certificate III in Aged care as well as Certified Eden Associate (or willingness to attain accreditation).

4.     Demonstrated experience as an Infection Control Representative or willingness to be trained to act in this role.

5.     Sound knowledge of the principles of work health and safety, including experience acting as a WMQ Emergency Warden and/or Work Health and Safety Representative or willingness to be trained and act in/work alongside these functions.

6.     Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise, encourage, engage, actively listen and support various stakeholders at all levels, to achieve outcomes, particularly in relation to ensuring compliance with  legal and mandatory training requirements for staff.

7.     Sound organisational, time management and problem solving skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.

8.     Commitment and enthusiasm to the professional development of self and others, including the ability to develop and foster an understanding, commitment and enthusiasm to the principles of continuous improvement, person centred care and the Eden philosophy.

9.     Solid computer skills, preferably including the ability to effectively utilise MS Office and related applications for data entry and record management purposes.

10.  Demonstrated compassion and respect for residents, colleagues, and visitors.

11.  Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principle of confidentiality.

12.  Relevant key personnel and probity checks required by legislation and WMQ policy.

Desirable:

1.   Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
