General Laundry Operator

Role Accountabilities:
1. Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Charter, Values and Mission of the organisation. 2. Complete all sorting (clean and soiled), folding, finishing and packing to meet the agreed delivery schedule. 3. Ensure finishing equipment operates correctly and carry out adjustments and minor maintenance duties as required. 4. Recording and checking all delivery quantities. 5. Monitor packaging stocks and advise Laundry Manager of supplies required. 6. Other general laundry tasks as required. 7. Liaise with Laundry Manager in relation to assigned tasks.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Requirements:
Essential:
1. Demonstrated ability to fold, sort, finish, press and pack personal items. 2. Demonstrated ability to operate steam tunnel finishing machine and utility press. 3. Ability to pack items using packing slips and delivery dockets. 4. Demonstrated skills in process scheduling. 5. Demonstrated ability to work in a team with minimal supervision. 6. Demonstrated sound written, numeracy, and interpersonal skills. 7. Understanding and commitment to the principles and requirements of workplace health & safety, equal opportunity and continuous quality improvement. 8. Willingness and ability to work within the Philosophies, Policies and Procedures of Wesley Mission Queensland and the Uniting Church in Australia.
Desirable 1. Previous experience in a commercial laundry.
