Recruitment & Retention Coordinator
(Community Aged Care & First Nations)

 

About the Role 

  • As a key member of the People & Culture and Community Aged Care teams, this role provides assistance in improving the new employee experience and building a sustainable workforce primarily for Community Aged Care and other services when requested.
  • You will lead the delivery of the Wesley Mission Queensland Reconciliation Action Plan commitments of recruitment and retention of First Nations employees, ensuring positive employee experiences. With your passion to influence positive outcomes for First Nations People, you will be an active member of the Wesley Mission Reconciliation Action Plan Committee.
  • You will be the lead for recruitment and orientation for frontline staff primarily within the Retirement, Mental Health and Community Services Directorate and the on-boarding interface with our People and Culture Employee Relations team.

 

 Key responsibilities include:

  1. Being the point of contact for all internal and external recruitment queries relating to the Retirement, Mental Health and Community Services Directorate.
  2. Using an e-Recruitment system, ensure competent staff are recruited and on-boarded in a timely manner. This includes placement of advertisements on both internal and external job boards, screening and assessment of applications, coordination of interviews through to job closure within the system.
  3. In consultation with People & Culture and the Reconciliation Action Plan Committee, develop and execute plans and strategies to increase the proportion of First Nations employees in our workforce
  4. In consultation with People & Culture and the Reconciliation Action Plan Committee, develop and execute plans and strategies to enhance retention of our existing First Nations workforce
  5. Coordination of the end-to-end recruitment process including interviews and, as required, assistance on the interview panels.
  6. Analysis and reporting of recruitment metrics.
  7. Ensure that a high level of customer service and a quality experience is provided to all applicants.

 

About You

  • You are an enthusiastic self-starter with highly developed people, organisational and time management skills.
  • Sound understanding of the human resource management function (especially recruitment) within a large complex organisation.
  • Strong administration skills including intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of applications particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision using initiative to follow up and/or escalate issues until resolved.
  • Aptitude and ability with HR related application systems and technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including application of customer service principles to all stakeholders in the recruitment process.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles of equal employment opportunity, workplace health and safety and continuous quality improvement.
  • Experience in recruiting and retaining First Nations workers is highly desirable
