Care Workers - Brisbane Southside

WMQ's Community Care Program is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Care Workers to join their team on a casual basis (with the view of becoming permanent). We require full availability with flexibility to work shifts between 6:00am - 9:00pm. The successful applicants will be able to work with minimum supervision and be adaptable within their availability.
This role is primarily responsible for providing quality care services to clients in their own homes in accordance with their care plan.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Personal care (showering/dressing)
- Continence management
- Assistance with meals
- Domestic duties (cleaning)
- Shopping
- Assistance with transport for medical appointments
- Social activities
- Carer support
- In home respite care and access to other services and any other tasks as stated in the care plan.
As this role requires travelling to client premises, a current Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to travel in the course of work is essential. Car and fuel provisions may be provided where appropriate. The ability to be able to use your own car to transport clients would be advantageous. Your vehicle needs to be registered and comprehensively insured with a clause covering work use. Your vehicle also needs to be suitable to transport clients i.e. no 4WD's.

Demonstrated understanding of the needs of and empathy towards older people and people with a disability. Essential: 6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people on an individual basis ensuring that the highest quality care, support and customer service is provided. Essential: 13. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles and practices of privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries in relation to all customers and staff. Essential: 7. Demonstrated ability to provide high quality assistance with activities of daily living as stated in the care plan. Essential: 8.
