The Position:

Wesley Mission Queensland is seeking an experienced Probity Officer to coordinate and process WMQ Probity Checks and undertake Compliance Reporting in line with relevant Standards, Legislation, Policy and Procedure.  This position is a six month fixed term position, working an average of 45 hours per fortnight. 

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinate and process all transactional / data entry processes involved with the processing of criminal history and background checking, on both current and potential employees, volunteers and consultants as required.
  2. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including the ACIC Agency, People and Culture and Service Managers in the processing and coordinating of criminal history and background checks.
  3. Maintain records and files in relation to probity checks.
  4. Ensure strict compliance with ACIC standards, legislation, policy and procedure.
  5. Assist in ensuring up to date communications are available both internally and externally around probity processes.
  6. Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, through email and phone enquiries.
  7. Manage criminal history screening checks, Blue and Yellow Cards and Annual AHPRA registrations and other key documentation including undertaking monthly audits for probity and due diligence checks.
  8. Assist the Employee Relations Team with various projects as required.
     

The Successful Applicant:

The successful applicant will have experience in a compliance based role within a large, diverse organisation.  The ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality is essential.  The role requires superior attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.  Aptitude with HR related application systems such as Aurion will be highly regarded.
