Hummingbird House is Queensland's only children's hospice and provides short break stays, family support services, creative therapies, and care at the end of life for children with life limiting conditions and their families. Hummingbird House is seeking to recruit two Casual Registered Nurses.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to work within Hummingbird House and in the community providing care and support to children and young adults with a life limiting condition. The successful applicants will be experienced in working with people who have complex needs and require 1:1 care support. The applicants will have exceptional and compassionate communication skills and have good availability and flexibility to cover shifts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Apply clinical decision making and practice at a level that reflects skill and competencies.
2. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans to meet the diverse and individual needs of children and families, reporting these back to the Care Team, Medical and Referral Panel as appropriate.
3. Manage own workload and that of others by ensuring appropriate delegation of skills and capability.
4. Participate in the induction and supervision of personal care workers, students and volunteers.
5. Demonstrated self-awareness and recognition of professional boundaries in clinical nursing practice.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and oral skills.
