Youth Mental Health Clinician

To provide clinical care co-ordination and therapeutic intervention for young people within the South Wide Bay region who are experiencing severe mental illness. The position will be located within the headspace model and service at Hervey Bay working both independently and in partnership with this team. This role is part of the broader approach to mental health service delivery within a stepped care framework. This role will provide clinical leadership to Family and Youth Worker/s within the centre.
The headspace Hervey Bay Youth Mental Health Clinician is primarily responsible for providing clinical triage, assessment, clinical services and general health screening in collaboration with general practice and other mental health providers in order to enhance the health and mental health outcomes of young people who present with severe or complex needs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the WMQ Model of Care, the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values. 2. Enhancing the multi-disciplinary team through provision of unique mental health skills and knowledge 3. Practicing as a registered clinician with a model established to support young person centred care 4. Supporting the development of a multi-disciplinary approach and providing support to other clinicians through supervision. 5. Providing intake, assessments brief intervention and reviews as well as acting as a professional resource for GPs and Primary Health Care practitioners working with young people who are affected with a severe and/or complex mental health issues. 6. Contributing to the integrity of all internal information systems as required, by maintaining data through timely updates and revision of information where required 7. Ensuring the collection of all relevant data in order to measure deliverables and continuously improve the delivery of services 8. Provide timely, high quality reports as required in collaboration with all headspace staff. 9. Provide supervision to Family and Youth Worker/s as scheduled 10. Work collaboratively with the Centre Manager/Clinical Lead to enhance service delivery for headspace Hervey Bay 11. Other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by the Centre Manager.
