Auslan Language Model Child Care Assistant
(Casual Position)
An exciting opportunity is available to work in our Toowong Child Care Centre. The service caters for 50 children – aged from 6 months to five years including a Kindergarten Program with a qualified Early Childhood Teacher.
We are looking for a dedicated and outstanding Auslan Language Model to work 11 hours a week, supporting our Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. An educator that holds a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care would be desirable.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment where children come first. At Toowong Child Care Centre we are committed to providing a nurturing environment for our children, families and staff. We have a strong and dedicated team of committed and qualified Educators who nurture and support each child's learning and development. Toowong Child Care Centre also offers a program for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Through this program, we support children in the acquisition of both Auslan and/or English languages while participating in an educational program with each child's interests at heart.
Selection Criteria (Applicants must):
- Highly desirable that applicant holds a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent – Studying towards Diploma an advantage
- Hold current Working with Children Suitability Notice
- Hold approved first aid qualifications
- Communicate effectively and positively with all stakeholders
- Create responsive learning and inviting learning environments
- Deliver a responsive early childhood program reflecting the Early Years Learning Framework, our philosophy and the National Quality Standards.
- Closely liaise with the service's educational leaders
- Have skills to prioritise and manage work projects efficiently and effectively.
