Physiotherapist - Aquatic

Hummingbird House, Queensland's only children's hospice, operates as a medically supported 'home away from home' for children affected by a life limiting condition, and their families. The stand-alone purpose built facility offers 8 guest in care suites, 5 family accommodation units and a unique 'care at the end of life' suite.
Underpinned by the notion of creating a 'warm embrace' for children and their families, the multidisciplinary team provides 24/7hr scheduled and emergency specialist care short break stays; pain and symptom management; care at the end of life; and psychosocial support programs for the whole family. With strong connections locally, nationally and internationally with specialist paediatric palliative care services, Hummingbird House is an integrated community based service delivering flexible child and family centred care. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Contribute to the planning, implementation, evaluation & reporting of the Aquatic Physiotherapy service.
- Be responsible for providing the highest quality of Aquatic Physiotherapy care to all guests within Hummingbird House.
- Possess high level clinical skills in the area of Aquatic Physiotherapy.
- Maintain a substantial clinical load in the area of Aquatic and Outpatient Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
- Actively participate in continuing education, including maintenance of knowledge of current research outcomes and literature reviews relating to Aquatic Physiotherapy, and keep up to date with advances in Aquatic Physiotherapy techniques, in order to enhance job performance.
- Apply significant clinical skills in Aquatic Physiotherapy to ensure the application of the highest quality standards in both the assessment and treatment of HH guest, as well as in decision-making with regard to all aspects of the Aquatic Physiotherapy service.
- Actively participate in the introduction of the NDIS hydrotherapy service within Hummingbird House
