Hummingbird House, Queensland's only children's hospice is looking for a dynamic fundraising and events specialist to join the Fundraising and Marketing team. Your primary role will be to develop, support, and coordinate events and community fundraising activities for Hummingbird House and WMQ, with a focus on Hummingbird House led events, community fundraising activities, and other third-party events and opportunities. This is a full time opportunity and the ideal candidate will have a willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the organisation and campaign objectives.

 

About Hummingbird House:

Hummingbird House, Queensland's only children's hospice, operates as a medically supported 'home away from home' for children affected by a life limiting condition, and their families. The stand alone purpose built facility offers 8 guest in care suites, 5 family accommodation units, and a unique care at the end of life suite. Underpinned by the notion of creating a 'warm embrace' for children and their families, the multidisciplinary team provides 24/7hr scheduled and emergency specialist care short break stays; pain and symptom management; care at the end of life; and psychosocial support programs for the whole family. With strong connections locally,  nationally and internationally with specialist paediatric palliative care services, Hummingbird House is an integrated community based service delivering flexible child and family centred care. Key responsibilities of the Community Fundraising and Events Coordinator include:

 

  1. Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the principles, Vision, Values and Mission of the organisation.
  2. Delivery of existing Hummingbird House events.
  3. Develop and coordinate new Hummingbird House fundraising events.
  4. Support third-party and community fundraising events and opportunities, where Hummingbird House is the beneficiary or charity of choice.
  5. Assist and support key WMQ key fundraising events including Trek to Connect, Red Gala Ball and Adventure Fundraising Program.
  6. Assist with the delivery of donor stewardship events, such as 'thank you' celebrations
  7. Support the planning and development of other Hummingbird House fundraising campaigns.
  8. Support Hummingbird House fundraising activities and campaigns, through designing and producing digital content and key collateral
  9. Data entry and maintenance of current donor contact information into the CRM database.
  10. Provide input into the Fundraising budget and strategic plan.
  11. Other fundraising, marketing, and communications related tasks as required by the Fundraising and Marketing Manager of Hummingbird House.

Essential Requirements Essential: Must have a current Drivers licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
